Show SAY THAT TEACHER BROKE A CONTRACT Board of Education Refuses Partial Payment of Salary in Consequence Conse-quence of Action. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, March 23. Charging that Edgar G. John6tong a Latin teacher in the Ogden senior high school, broke his contract by refusing to complete the school year, the board of education tonight to-night refused to allow his division of the tenth month salary that is held back on all teachers until the vclose of school. He will lose about $S0 as a result of the board's action. Mr. Johnston left his post about a week ago, after the board had refused to accept his resignation. He had previously pre-viously put in a claim for $6 in salary that was deducted because he failed to attend the general meeting of the teachers last September. In one of his communications the teacher charged that the board had treated him like a child. G. Jackson Reeves of Trinidad, Colo., has been employed to take Mr. .Johnston 's place. The'new teacher will arrive here early next week. Mr. Johnston is a native of Tennessee Tennes-see and one of the best tennis players in this city.' |
