Show INCREASE INDICATED BY SCHOOL CENSUS Prospects Are Tliat When Reports Are in a Thousand More Children Are Added to Population. With the census returns received from all but four precincts it was approximated !;tst night that the school population of 1016 will show a gain of about luuO over the census of 1U15. The school census of 1!H for the Salt Lake school district was 26,347. The census cen-sus for the present year will be In the neighborhood of 2i,4Ql. The First district, with one precinct yet to make its returns, shows a gun of 295. The Second district last night lacked three precincts in the complete returns, and from indications this district will show a loss in population. The Third district, wth complete returns, re-turns, shows a gain of 120. The Fourth district, with complete returns, re-turns, shows a sain of 220. The Fiith district, with complete returns, re-turns, shows a loss -of ninety-six. L.. P. Judd, clerk of the board of education, edu-cation, stated last nisht that the figures of the census represent about the expected normal increase in the school population. The complete census is expected to be received today. |
