WILL REFUSE PERMIT FOR BOXING CONTEST Although saying that he did not expert ex-pert to call up' the boxing contest ordinance ordi-nance for immediate consideration, Mayor "W. Mont Ferry yesterday announced an-nounced with positiveness that no more such contests to exceed, six rounds will be permitted in Salt Lake City At the name time an intimation was given out in official of-ficial quarters that the petition of Edmund Ed-mund T. OIscd for a permit to hold a boxing contest in the Richards street Auditorium on August 1-i will meet with refusal. City officials express the opinion that since the Manhattan club holds a blanket blan-ket license for each week in the year, and only one license a week is permissible permis-sible under the ordinance, it will be impossible im-possible to grant a permit to Olsen. It is also pointed out that the granting of a license is cntireU- within the hands of the license assesAr, and that since the Manhattan club holds a license for the week of August 14 he could not legally grant a second license for that week.
