Show PROPOSED INCREASE UNDER DISCUSSION No Decision Is Reached on Raising of Assessment in Weber County. Special to The Tribune. O'GDEX, Aug. 1. No final decision was reached on the proposed increase of 20 per cent on the assessed valuation of range cattle and sheep and 10 per cent on merchandise stocks when members of the state board 'of equalization conferred con-ferred with the Weber county commissioners commis-sioners tli is afternoon. The state board has virtually decided to take no action this year on the cjuestion of merchandise, merchan-dise, but will advise the county board later on the proposed increase on cattle and sheep. All members of the county board were present and also Assessor .1 . F. Robson and Deputy County Clerk L. H. .Van .Dyke. The state board members presented figures from throughout the state tending to show that Wreber county's coun-ty's valuation on range cattle and sheep is below the average. The same condition con-dition exists in this county as to merchandise mer-chandise stocks, according to the board. Notice was served on the commission- ers yesterday that the slate board had i under consideration the proposed increases in-creases on cattle, sheep and merchandise stocks. At the request of the state board the meeting was held today to discuss the questions. |
