Show FOUR RECRUITS TO GUARD II TAKEN Sanpete County and Sandy Send Men to Reinforce State Troops. Four recruits were added to the National Na-tional Guaid of Utah yesterday when John W. Tufts and Bert A. Madson of Sanpete county and George Poison and Earl llardcastle of Sandy were enlisted en-listed at the local recruiting office. Sandy has promised to send half a dozen doz-en more, a total of ten, by Saturday night. Although Murray has not as yet furnished a single "man of the fifteen promised from the district, tho recruiting recruit-ing officers are optimistic and predict that once it becomes known throughout through-out the state that recruits are wanted the 300 men desired will soon be enlisted. en-listed. Governor William Spry and Adjutant General E. A. Wedgwood went to Logan Lo-gan yesterday afternoon to confer with Mayor P. A. Thatcher and others who arc" at the head of the movement in Cache county to provide support for families of guardsmen now on duty on the border. Captain James E. Shelley, inspector-instructor inspector-instructor of the Utah National Guard, has boon withdrawn from detached duty and assigned to active duty with the Sixteenth cavalry at San Antonio. Captain Cap-tain Shelley succeeded Captain W. B. Wallace as inspector-instructor of the Utah guard when the organization was changed from iufantrv to cavalry. V. W. Myers, hospital apprentice, first class, attached to the local naval recruiting station, has been ordered to Mare Island for dutv in the naval dispensary, dis-pensary, lie expects to leave the latter lat-ter part of tbe week. His successor has not as yet been named. E. C. White, chief yeoman, attached to the recruiting office, has been ordered or-dered to Mare Island hospital to be treated for ulceration of the stomach.
