OCR Text	Show T. J. CALLAGHAN IS GIVEN PROMOTION T. .T. C'allaghan, United States secret service opera tivo for t his district, was all smiles yesterday. In goinr through liis morning mail he found a little note from W. II. Moran, acting chief of the secret service, announcing an increase in salary and, incidentally, an advance in rank, both of which became effective yesterday. What made the note ail the more welcome was tho line which said the .advancement was due entirely to merit.
