Show BRIGHAM CITY WILL IMPROVE ITS PARK. BRIGHAM CITY, Aug. 1. The city has finally decided to improve the city park, better known as the Reese park, on lower low-er Forest street. The matter of a modern mod-ern park for Brigham City has had the attention of leading citizens for quite a number of years, and less than two years ago a committee of three was appointed to visit Salt Lake's parks, with a view to gett ing ideas to incorporate into t he-plans he-plans for t lie rebuilding of the city park here. Since that timo the matter was allowed to drop until a short time ago, when the city was urged by leading men and women to take action on the plans submitted by the committee. At the last meeting of the city council the committee was authorized to commence com-mence the work of remodeling the park. The people of the city recently subscribed liberally to a fund with which to start the work, and this money has all been collected and turned over to the city recorder, re-corder, wlo will act as trustee for the committee. It is planned to designate a day early in the present month as Park day, and the committee has asked the city council to declare it a general holiday holi-day in Brigham and to urge everyone to get out and work in the park. This Ms a part of the scheme of the committee to li nance the proposition. With two or three hundred men and numerous teams for one day, the rebuilding of the park would be given, a substantial start. |
