Show GESAS FOUND GUILTY II DISTRICT CUT Jury Holds Youth Responsible Responsi-ble for Death of Couple Last November, A verdict of guilty as charged, with a recommendation of mercy, whs returned yesterday afternoon in the case of Jesse Gesas, tried in tho Third district court for involuntary manslaughter as the result re-sult of his having driven the automobile (hat fatally struck Kdward Pavies and Miss Gladys Mitchell ou the night of November 1.3, 1915. The deliberations of the jury lasted three hours. The maximum penalty for the offense of which the young man has been convicted con-victed is one year 's imprisonment in the county jail. Judge C W. Morse set' ne.t Saturday as the day for passing of sentence. Yesterday's proceedings of the trial included only the instruction of the .jury by the court and the later deliberations and report of the eight jurymen, all arguments having been concluded lYi-dav lYi-dav afternoon. The accident that resulted fatally for Edward Davies and Miss Gladys Mitchell Mitch-ell occurred at the intersection of Seventh Sev-enth South and Fifth East streets. They were struck after they stopped from a street car. The couple were to have been married tbo next day. |
