Show CITIZENS OF SOUTH ENCOURAGE FACTORY Special to The Tribune. CASTLE DALE. May 27. The people of Emery and Carbon, counties are enthusiastic en-thusiastic over the prospects of a sugar factory and railroad to be built somewhere some-where tn either of the two counties. Representatives of the Utah-Idaho Suar company held a meeting in Castle Hale in April, which was attended by representative men from every town in the county. The officials of 'the sugar company virtually promised the people a sugar factory and railroad from Price to i the town of Emery if they would con- tract to grow 7000 acres of beets In the years 1917, 1918 and 1919. Committees of representative men were appointed from each town in Emery county, with C. E. Larsen of Castle Dale as central chairman. Since that time Mr. Larsen and other prominent men have held nightly meetings in the various towns to urge the people to sign contracts con-tracts to grow beets for the proposed factory, fac-tory, and they are meeting with a great deal of success, which is very encouraging, encourag-ing, as the people realize the convenience of the railroad and the benefit of the beet industry to their county. |
