Show SALT LAKERS MAKE RECORD AUTO TRIP r With stops amounting to not more than five hours altogether, an autoino iio party which set out from here at 5 o'clock Tuesday morning for some mining L-iaims beyond Ely, Nev., returned yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. It was 695 miles of practically continuous going. In the party were George Danley. gait Lake mining man; his nephew, George Danley, Jr. ; Joseph Dunyon of Tooele and J. L.. Hammond of Salt Take. who drove the car. The passengers snatched I : , some sleep coming and going in the car, but Driver Hammond did not even nod .from the time the party left until they Sot back. The trip over, he tumbled into bed for the first snooze since Monday night. The party went by way of Shatter and Dugway through to Riy. They were stalled three times in low places where the winter snows had left mud holes. On the whole, however, ihey pronounced the roads in fairly good -shape. |
