Show 5JK CITIZENS TO ' KEEP MEMORIAL DAY People Generally Will Assist As-sist G. A. R. Veterans to Hold Ceremonies. Arrangements have .just been completed com-pleted for a fitting celebration of Memorial Me-morial day at Sandy. The people of the town and adjoining communities will gather at the Sandy flagpole at 9 a. m. Tuesday. There they will form in procession pro-cession as follows: Brass band; G. A. E. veterans and city council; Boy Scouts of America; I. O. O. F. and Rebekah lodges; K. of C. and Pythian Sisters; Campfire and Beehive Girls; fire department; de-partment; automobiles carrying the old people followed by the general public. A. Gardner, scoutmaster, with his assistants, as-sistants, will have charge of the procession pro-cession as marshal of the day. He will also be master of ceremonies at the cemetery, where a programme will be presented as follows: Opening music, brass band; invocation, invoca-tion, Bishop A. J. Butler; selection, Sandy choir; reading, Lincoln's Gettysburg Gettys-burg address, Enoch Jorgenson; vocal solo, Mrs. E. W. Stephens; music, Sandy school orchestra; Memorial day speech, President William D. Kuhre; selection, I Sandy ward choir; music, school orches- ' tra; dedication exercises by G. A. R. l-t- veterans at the graves of" their com- "Jr rades in charge of Colonel H. W. Char- f ter. This number will include a male quartette, "Sleep, Soldier, Sleep," by Anderson and company. A stage will be erected at the cemetery ceme-tery for the choir and orchestra. Arrangements have been made for automobiles au-tomobiles to carry the aged to and from the cemetery, and a large attendance from Sandy and adjoining communities is anticipated. |
