Show PIONEERS WILL CELEBRATE 32 S5 & S MARRIED SIXTY YEARS AGO MR. AND MRS. JOHN READING of Centerville, who are to observe their sixtieth wedding anniversary next Thursday. Thurs-day. v 1"-av-y i A-, 77 Couple Came Across Plains to Utah by Ox Team in 1859. MR. AXB MRS. JOHN READING will celebrate tho Bixtieth anniversary anni-versary of their wedding at Centerville next Thursday. The anniversary falls upon May 29, but owing to observances of Memorial day : on Sunday and Tuesday, it was decided to hold the celebration at a later date. Mr. Reading, who is the pioneer florist of Salt Lake City, was born in England a little less than eighty-two years ago. His wife, who was Miss Annie Brown, also was born in England, Eng-land, she being his ."junior by about a year. Their marriage took place in England and they came to this country iu ISoti, first settling at German town. Pa. Mr. Beading was a florist in England Eng-land aud he resumed tho business at Germantown and made a success. Later be decided to come to Utah, and he and Mrs. Reading made the long trip from the Missouri river to Salt Lake City .by ox team. Upon his arrival in Salt Lake in 1859 Mr. Reading at once resumed his business as florist, and he is in the same business today, except that he now pays attention only to the wholesale whole-sale end of tho trade. In the early days Mr. Beading was a valued member of the Salt Lake City volunteer fire department, having been assistant chief when George B. Ottinger Was at the head of the pioneer tire fighters. He also was a member of the hardy band which fought the Indians In-dians during some of Utah's darkest periods and is a member of the Kauvoo legion. Tho celebration of their wedding anniversary an-niversary will open at noon Thursday, when Mr, and Mrs. Reading, with their sous and daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as guests, will sit down to a family dinner at the Centerville Center-ville home. There are five children, including an adopted daughter, twenty, two grandchildren and sixteen greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. The sons and daughters are as follows: fol-lows: Mrs. R. E.
