Arrangements nave been completed by the joint committee of Civil War Veterans, Spanish War Veterans, La-1 dies of the G. A. R., Women's Relief corps and Elks for the celebration of Memorial (lay. Assignments have been made of speakers for each of the public pub-lic schools for tomorrow, and the schedule sched-ule for church services today has also been announced, as well as the programme pro-gramme for Tuesday, which is Memorial day. This morning the members of the lo cal G. A. B. posts and Spanish War Veterans will meet at fl:45 o'clock at the southeast corner of Second South and Second East streets. There they tvill form in line and march into the First Methodist church. At 10 o'clock the special memorial services will begin there, with praver offered by the chaplain chap-lain of thnL'tah department of the G A. R. The Rev. Will A. Betts, pastor pas-tor of the church, will deliver the memorial me-morial sermon and there will be special music bv the church choir. On Mondav afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in each public school thero will be an address on patriotism and the meaning of Memorial day. The speakers iri most cases will be members of the Elks lodge and Spanish War Veterans. Wherever possible, however, a veteran of the Civil war will accompany the speaker. High School Speakers. Several memorial services will be held Tuesday, including a meeting in the Elks lodge room at 1 o'clock. At Mt. Olivet. Services will be held in Mount Olivet cemetery at 9:,0 o'clock by tho Oliver O. Howard and Maxwell-McKean posts of the G. A. R. and the members of the Ladies' Relief corps. The veterans will meet at their headquarters on Post-office Post-office place at 9 o'clock and go to the cemetery in street cars. At 9:S0 o'clock the graves will be strewn with flowers, and this will bo followed by the ritualistic, ritual-istic, service, presided over by Commander Comman-der A. B. Lawrence. Judge J. M. Bowman Bow-man will read General Logan's order establishing Memorial day and also Lincoln Lin-coln 's Gettysburg address. This will be followed bv a ritualistic service for the unknown dead, and at 11:15 o'clock a bronze cannon which was used in the civil war will be dedicated. The cannon was donated by congress to the G. A. H. of I'tah. Short addresses will be made bv H. G. Rollins and Judge Bowman for the G. A. R. and Harold B. Stephens and Horace 11. Smith, representing the citizens' military training camp and the Spanish War Veterans, respectively. Music for the entire morning pro-crramno pro-crramno at the Mt. Olivet cemetery will be rendered by tho All Hallows college band. . , Services at the City cemetery will be conducted bv E. A. Wedgwood camp No. 1 of the Sp'anish War Veterans, beginning begin-ning at 1(1 o'clock. Prayer will be offered of-fered by Chaplain Daniel H. Drinen, and the address will be made by Camp Commander Com-mander Horace H. Smith. A salute will be fired by a squad from troop C 'Utah cavalry. Music will be rendered by the Salt Lake Federated Musicians. A detail of veterans will leave headquarters head-quarters on Postoffice place at '.) o'clock Tuesday morning for Fort Douglas cemetery, cem-etery, where graves will be streawn with flowers, an address made and a ritualistic ritual-istic services conducted. Ritualistic exercises will be conducted in Murray by Gordon circle. Ladies of tho G. A. R., and there will be public speakers as well. The members of Gordon Gor-don circle will also conduct the usual service of casting flowers in tho Jordan Jor-dan river at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday, in memory of those who died at sea. All veterans will assemble in the Elks clubhouse at noon, following tie cemetery ceme-tery services, and luncheon will be served by the Elks. The programme there will begin in the lodge room at, 1 o'clock. Exalted ruler O. B. Dibblee will welcome the veterans, following invocation in-vocation by the lodge chaplain. Elks to Participate. "The Flag Without a Stain" will be sung by the Cecilia Ladies quartette, consisting of Miss Cora Howe, who also composed the song, first soprano; Miss Minnie Best, second soprano; Miss Esther Es-ther Drommerhausen. first contralto, and Miss Evelyn Buehler, second contralto. con-tralto. Miss Amy Howe will be tho accompanist. ac-companist. The Bev. P. A. Simpkin, pastor of Phillips Congregational church, will deliver de-liver the oration of the day, and it will be followed by an instrumental selection, selec-tion, "Old Melodies," by Miss Mac Anderson, An-derson, violinist. Miss Marie Eddillgton, pianist, and Miss Mollie Burris, cellist. James 11. Ball will then deliver an address ad-dress on behalf of the Spanish war veterans. vet-erans. Miss Leola Sehranek, accompanied by Miss Edna Edwards, will sing a- contralto con-tralto solo, "Barbara Frictchie," by Slo-man. Slo-man. Dr. Seymour B. Young will be the speaker for the G. A. K., and benediction benedic-tion will be pronounced by Captain Elmer El-mer Johnson of the Spanish war veterans. vet-erans.
