' MINNEAPOLIS, May 27. George A. Hedger, an instructor in English at the University of Minnesota, was found lying on a ledge of a cliff near the Mississippi Mis-sissippi river tonight, a short distance from the university buildings. Ho is believed to have missed his footing, plunging to the ledge more than 100 feet below. Physicians said that his neck probably was broken by the fall. Hedger Hed-ger came here from Salt Lake City, Utah, a year ago. Mr. Hedged was one of the best known voting educators iu Utah. For many years he was instructor in English at the University of Utah. He resigned a year ago at the same time that several other educators left the institution because be-cause of lack of smypathy with the administrative ad-ministrative policy. Mr. Hedger is a native of Salt Lake. His mother, Mrs. Christine Hedger, a.nd his brother are living in Salt Lake at 103(1 East First South street. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and took post-graduate work at the University Univer-sity of California. On completing his course at Berkeley he accepted a position posi-tion on the faculty of the University of Utah, which position he occupied for about ten years. After leaving Salt Lake a year ago he accepted an appointment appoint-ment to the faculty of the University of Minnesota. He is about 40 years of age and unmarried. |
