Show BETTER VALUES IK THE SELLS ORE BODY I Raise Now Up Eighty Feet and Product Being Saved for Shipment. As the work of driving the No. 1 raise ou the Sells property progresses the values of the ore ibody continue to improve, according to President A. O. Jacobson. He is receiving samples taken across the voof of the raise daily aud having them assayed. The raise is uow up a distance of eighty feet and the ore body averages about threo and one-half one-half feet in width. Ore is, now being saved for shipment. The No. 1 raise was started on a fissure fis-sure that was cut in driving along the contact between the quarUite and the limestone, which contact strikes northwesterly north-westerly and southeasterly. The No. 3 raise tfiat is being driven on the east-west east-west fissure that was cut at a point thirty feet back from the No. ! raise is now up a distance of sixty feet. A bedded vein has been cut that is elevou feet thick and shows manganese and iron. This bedded vein is being followed fol-lowed back to the west to reach the point where it intersects a porphyry-dike porphyry-dike and a fissure that crosses the main level at a point about 150 feet further ahead, in the northwest drift. The ore in tho No. 1 raise is each day showing more lead and from its character President Jacobson is of the opinion that by following it it will lead to the Skipper ore body that was so productive in the upper workings of the property. The present workings are at a vertical depth of 1032 feet from the snrfa.ee. In the southwest drift the miners are driving steadily forward to reach the Sells and the Kate Hays fissures. The three-inch streak of high-grade lead-silver ore that was cut still persists per-sists and the face is showing more mineralization. min-eralization. The Sells fissure will be (Jut at a point about 140 feet ahead of the present breast. In discussing the work being done at the Columbus Extension property, Mr. Jacobson said that the southwest drift was being driven ahead and that crosscuts cross-cuts had been started to the south aud north for the purpose of cutting the numerous nu-merous fissures in that section of the property. The raise that is being driven to reach the point where the fissure intersects in-tersects the limestone-qiiartzife contact is also being driven ahead with the ore persisting in small streaks. . |
