Show EDDIE HALLINAN OUT; CRIPPLE LIST GROWS Breton Leaves Bed for First Time; Hall and Baum Likely Pitching Choices. Special to The Tribune. SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 2. Eddie Haliiuan joined tho list of Salt Lake cripples today. He haa a bad finger, as has Billy Orr, and couldn't get into action. This necessitated quite a shifting shift-ing about. Jimmy Shinn, who used to be an infielder before he went to the outer garden, was sent to third and Quinlan had to move over to right field to make room for Zacher at center. Breton the Salt Lake infielder, was out for tne first time yesterday since ho was taken sick, but was not in uniform. It is thought likely he will not be able to play any more ball in San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Hall is scheduled to do the flinging for Salt Lake tomorrow morning. Lx Spider Baum's shoulder doesn't bother him too much, he will do his favorite morning stunt in Oakland. Jack Beatty, first baseman with the Seals, was handed his five days' notice no-tice today by Manager Wolverton, who said he would get along for the rest of the season with Paul Meloan playing the sack. Beatty was signed to give the Seals additional hitting strength, but he failed to live up to his reputation. |
