Show BINGHAM t . BINGHAM, Oct. 2. A. Walter Koehler of the Copperfield State bank returned Monday from a visit to California. While on the ooast he - attended the bankers' oonventlon at Seattle, Wash. The members of Ruth Rebekah lodge Tuesday night celebrated the sixty-fourth year of the existenc of the order. An interesting and Instructive talk was given by Archie Stewart- The remainder of the evening was spent In playing cards. Prizes were awarded as follows: Ladies' first prize, Miss Levetta Stuart; ladles' second prize. Miss Stella Klopenstlne; ladies' consolation prize, Mrs. Edward Wilcox; gentlemen's first prize. Edward Wilcox; gentlemen's second prize, Archie Stewart; gentlemen's consolation prize, A. H. Harris. Luncheon was served. A boy scouts' club is being organized by Homer Chris tensen, physical director of the Ringham schools. A mass meeting meet-ing to perfect the organization will be held In the Auditorium during the week. Mr. Chiistensen will be assisted by Mrs. Inez Todd King, who will organize a Campfire girls' club. Miss Lillian Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn., and James Garnett of this place were married in Salt Lake Tuesday. Mr. Garnett has resided in Bingham for several sev-eral years and has a host of friends. Miss Natallna Silva and Frank Purln, both of Bingham, were quietly married in Salt Lake Tuesday. Both young people are well known here and have the best wishes of their many friends. Mrs. Dr. Flynn entertained the Sewing Sew-ing club Tuesday afternoon. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served. Those present were Mesdames J. H. Man-waring, H. C. Dean. W. A. 8cudder, Benjamin Lewis, George Earl, Harry Davis, D. W. George. M. E. Miller, Victor Eckman and George Chandler. Miss Clarice Ay era was surprised Monday Mon-day night by a number of her friends in honor of her birthday. Games were played and luncheon woa served. The Sunshine club surprised Mrs. H. G. Sorenson Monday afternoon. The club presented Mrs. Sorenson a table cover. Luncheon was served. A dance was given by the members of the L. D. ft church at the ward meeting house Wednesday evening. Good music was furnished and a pleasant time was enjoyed. C. F. McFall of the Southern Pacific railroad gave an illustrated lecture at the Commercial club Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Adderty are expected to return next Monday from a month's visit In California. The grand ball given by the two fire departments at Canyon hall Friday night was a success In every way. A neat sum was realized for the benefit of the two organizations. Much credit Is due the committee for Its untiring efforts to make the dance a success. Mrs. George Taylor 1p entertaining Mrs. Florence ECenntson of Paonia, Colo. The teachers of the public schools are arranging a programme for the opening of the gymnasium, which will take place about October 15. No effort will be spared to make this a day long to be I remembered by the pupils. 0 |
