Show PROSPECTS GDOD M LEONORA POOPERTV I Miners Cut North-south Fissure; Fis-sure; Mineralization Increases. Witlt the mineralization showing a decided increase as the work of driving driv-ing to the ea?t alon the east-west fissure fis-sure off the main shaft of the Leonora property progresses the probabilities of encountering pay ore in commercial 1 quantities are except ion ally good, according ac-cording to Aqui la Nebeker, U 11 i ted States marshal, who has returned from a trip to the property. Discussing his impressions yesterday, Mr. Xebeker said that, he was expecting to hear of important im-portant developments at the property at almost any day and that t lie campaign cam-paign of prospecting -work that was under un-der way was being carried on in a most satisfactory manner. , "Recently the miners, equipped with machine drills, broke into what was thought to be the casing of the north-south north-south fissure. It was a large body of quartz impregnated with copper, silver and lead values. It has now oeei demonstrated dem-onstrated to the satisfaction of the management man-agement that the north-south fissure has been cut. The breast shows about ten inches of highly mineralized vein material and the galena and lead , carbonate car-bonate is plainly discernible in the rock. The north-south fissure was cut at a point about 400 feet on the vertical from the surface and at present the miners are drifting northerly and southerly along toe north-south fissure and also driving easterly on the east-west fissure, fis-sure, in each case, following where the mineralization is heaviest. It is the purpose of the management to continue drifting to the north along the north-south fissure to the point where it intersects the monzonite dike, which is about loO feet from the present pres-ent breast in the drift. The monzonite lies in contact with the limestone and the strike of the contact is easterly and westerly. Paralleling the monzohite-limestone monzohite-limestone contact are three mioeral-bearing mioeral-bearing fissures and these are crossed by the north-south fissures that also intersect the contact. Members of the T'nited States geological survey, who have reported on the Star district of Beaver county, in which the Leonora property is located, are of the opinion that the source of the ore bodies is the monzonite. It is also believed that the points where the mineral-bearing fissures fis-sures intersect the contact are the most favorable points for ore doposition. |
