BACKES, who constitute thelj committee having in charge arrangements for big entertainment now in preparation. Committee Wants Biggest Company Ever Engaged in Annual Event. REHEARSALS for the show you have been waiting for have been started, and the announcement has been issued that the old-time " stupendous spectaole,n the Elks' annual an-nual minstrel show, will be given in the Salt Lake theater on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, November No-vember 29 and 30 and December 1. A committee consisting of Charles C Backes, Harry D. Chase and Harvey W. Allen has been appointed to conduct the arrangements for the show.. They have selected Charles Kent, a well-known well-known local theatrical man, to have charge of the performance as producer and stage director. The committee has issued a call to all members to be on hand for rehearsals, and to bring along all available talont, for a bigger company than has ever appeared ap-peared before is wanted this time. Many now ideas already have been launched for the olio, and the .big minstrel min-strel first part will be participated in by not less than 100 persons, the committee com-mittee announces. Sopranos, altos, tenorB, .baritones and bassos are all wanted for the chorus. Those who want to take part are invited in-vited to report to the committee or to Mr. Kent at the Elks' club house on State street. The Elks7 annual minstrel show is always one of the big fall events iu amateur theatricals, and is of special interest because the proceeds from the performances go to charity. |
