Show HONORARY COLONEL DISTRIBUTES GIFTS I I Empress of Germany Celebrates Twen-1 Twen-1 ty-fifth Anniversary of Appointment Appoint-ment to Position. Special Cable to The Tribune. BERL.IN, Nov. 6. The German empress em-press recently celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of her appointment as honorary hon-orary colonel of the infantry regiment, Koenlg No. 86 of Flensburg. To remind the regiment, which is at the front since the beginning of the war, of her silver Jubl-t Jubl-t lee. she sent many boxes of gifts for the ! officers and soldiers. The officers re-i re-i calved short swords bearing the name of ! the ruler, and 5000 marks for their relief ' fund. For the soldiers the empress sent I the same amount, together with thou- sands of cigars and delicacies of all kinds. The regiment celebrated the annlver-! annlver-! snrv with a dinner at the front. At the ! feast the general commanding the army ' corps distributed many iron crosses by special order of the emperor, snd the officers of-ficers and men sent a telegram of oon-gratulation oon-gratulation to their honorary chief, pledging themselves to fight to the l&ct braiK |
