Preparations for tho groat cndiiraucc automobile run from Salt Lake City to Gunnison, Monday, aro practically completed. com-pleted. The cars will start at 10 o'clock from in front of The Tribuno building and will proceed in order, each car bc- I ing numbered. Thoy will bo expected to proceed throughout the run at a speed not greater than twenty miles nn hour and to make the different distances dis-tances within schedule time. The number of entries at tho prcsout timo is fifteen. A recent letter from Anthony Motcalf. president of tho Ciiy Council of Gunnison, to W. E. Macar-ton, Macar-ton, who is managing tho alfair, expresses ex-presses great interest in the run and promises his assistance and co-operation in making tho event a success. May Increase Number. I All owners of cars who intend to make tho run 4 ''free lance" are also requested request-ed to communicate with Mr. Macarton at that lime, so that arrangements may be mndo for their entertainment at Nc-phi Nc-phi and at Gunnison, The first stop will bo at Springvillo, where an hour will bo taken for lunch. Tho first night will bo passed at Ne-phi, Ne-phi, and the contestants arc expected to reach Gunnison boforo noon Tuesday. Tues-day. Citizens of Gunnison have arranged ar-ranged to give a banquot to tho visitors and a chicken dinner will bo served. During the afternoon a ruu will bo made to Manti. a dislanco of about thirty miles, and a banquet will also bo served there, to be followed by a dauco in tho evening. It' is expected! that many of the cars will return to this citj' Tuesday night, although it is tho inte'ntion to start Wednesdaj- morning morn-ing and mako tho run "freo lance" during the day. |
