| Show THE N Y al GOODHOPE PLACERS Cast ledale progress it is again stated that the new york good hope placer mining company will soon commence operating a dredge for extracting tr gold from the Co colorado orado river the company has nearly completed its arrangements the dredging will be prosecuted between dandy crossing and good hope a distance of 18 miles and it it is understood that there are yards of gravel to be washed the company has secured coal measures in the henry mountains and will do the dredging by means of electric power the auriferous gravel is said to carry from ten cents to several dollars in gold to the yard while a most careful saml sampling jlIng of the bars indicates that taken all in all 1 it will average to the yard to fully launch and round out the enterprise ter prise it is calculated that five years will be required the company haa already begun the building of a road over which it is intended to move in the machinery and supplies from green river station though the route is already in fair condition for light travel a greater portion of the miles a distance that will be materially shortened it is expected that one or more of the dredgers will be built and placed in commission during the coming year and that the number will be added to as rapidly as possible after the start is made |
