R'.untitul w.ud was divided to torm the limniilul f irst ward and the Huiililul Siv.md Ward At a meeting held on March 22. lW, Jedediah Stringham was ordained a Bishop by Apostle Orson F. Whitney and set apart to preside over the new Bountiful Second Ward. After the division was made, the members of the two new wards continued to meet together in the Bountiful Tabernacle for about five years, the respective bishops taking turns in presiding over the meetings. FROM A history compiled by Andrew Jenson we find the following: "IN 1912 steps were taken to erect a meetinghouse in the Bountiful Second Ward. Work was pushed on with energy, the members of the ward responding liberally with their means and the church furnishing half of the cost ' "Bountiful Second Ward This is the way some of the older residents of the area will remember the building. This picture, taken in 19-40. shows the addition of the porch and front steps. consists of the Latter-day Saints residing in the south pan of the city of Bountiful and country districts lying southward. Northward, the ward extends to the Bountiful First Ward, east to the mountains, south to Salt Lake county, and west to the South Bountiful Ward. "THF: WARD meetinghouse, meet-inghouse, a fine modern building, is situated on the corner of 2nd tasl and 5th South Street facing south and east. This building, erected at a cost of 15, UK) dollars, has a main auditorium with a seating seat-ing capacity of "l people, a Relief Society room (with kitchen attached) and a number of classrooms. The furnace and boiler room are placed in a separate building adjoining the main edifice. The house is steam heated." The first meeting was held in Ilie Second Ward Chapel o" July 26. 191-4, and the meetinghouse meet-inghouse was dedicated on Dec. 14. I9iybv Apostle David O. McKay.
