Show NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 1. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held bv the Utah Transit jt horny m the Utah State Briefing Center. 19 fcast Second South. Salt Lake City, Utah, on Tuesday. March 23, 1976. at 10 00 a m. for the purpose of considering a project for which financial assistance is being sought from the Urban Mass Transportation Trans-portation Administration, pursuant to Section 5 of the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 19t4, as amended by the National Mass Transportation Transpor-tation Assistance Act of 1974, generally described as follows: A. Project Application: I. Description Federal funds are being sought to provide operating assistance to subsidize bus service within Salt lake, Davis, and Weher Counties, L lah, as outlined in the officially adopted Transit Development Develop-ment Program. 2 The project will be located in Salt l-ake. Davis, and Weber Counties. Utah 3. The estimated cost of the project is $4.407. 42H. The Federal share of he project is $1,272,672, and the local share is $3.i:J4.756 The local share of monies needed to operate the local transit district during the calendar calen-dar year 1H75 has been paid for from funds allot ated to public transit districts from sales tax revenues which became effective January 1, 1975. in the amount of $1,790,139, pU5 kcal passenger and special traasit (ares and advertising advertis-ing revenues totaling $1,344,617 in the Salt Lake and Ogden Urbanized areas. B. Relocation: No relocation of persons, families and or businesses will result trom mis project. C. Environment : The proposed project will not have a significant environmental en-vironmental impact upon the urban area. Certain environmental environ-mental benefits are hoped to be realized by an improved transit system. Fewer automobile au-tomobile trips and less automobile au-tomobile pollution in the urbanized ur-banized area may result. D Comprehensive Planning: This project is in conformance confor-mance with the comprehensive comprehen-sive land use and transportation transporta-tion planning in this area. The project is currently under review by the Wasatch Front Regional Council, Salt Lake County council of Governments, Govern-ments, Davis County Council of Governments, Weber County Council of Governments, Govern-ments, and the Utah State Planning Office E. Elderly and Handicapped: The project will take into consideration the special needs of the elderly and the physically handicapped persons. per-sons. II. At the hearing the Utah transit Aumoriiy win attora an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental en-vironmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing writ-ing evidence and recommendations recommen-dations with respect to said project. III. Copies of (I) the proposed application, (2) the program of Section 5 projects. (3) the draft report describing describ-ing the environmental, social, and economic impacts of the proposed project, and (4) the Transit Development Program are available for public inspection at the Wasatch Front Regional Council located at 424 West Center Street, Bountiful, Utah.
