Show West! mi By ALICE MITCHELL 2SS-1156 The past week in West Bountiful has been as usual, except that there have been a number of happenings which would point to the (act that the "luck of the Irish' or some little people were about doing their best to enliven the lives of the citizens. St. Patrick's Day brought the wearing of the green by people as well as the landscape. lands-cape. All over town one could see tiny new plants trying to come through the earth. One of the seeming tricks of the little people was the early hour of the rising of the sun. Sometimes the chickens and roosters began to stir as early as 3 a.m. Some people began to wish that Day Light Savings Time would come again so that they could work earlier or get to their golf or tennis games earlier. One of the events of the "Irish" week was the announcement an-nouncement of the Ken Wellingtons of the birth of a grandson. This is the first male member of the family. He was bom two weeks ago. He will be named Robert Kent, and was born to Jane Ann and Kent Messenger of Orem. Attella Miller, mother of Ariel and Klias, fell which necessitated surgery and hospitalization. hos-pitalization. She is in the McKay Dee Hospital with a chipped knee. Matilda Dilks fell a few weeks ago but seems to be alnght. We wish her a belated happy birthday. She was 82 and was entertained at a birthday dinner. Guests included the Bob Dilks, the Tony Hugoes and the Harold Hugoes. Matilda is looking forward to the wedding of her granddaughter grand-daughter Christine Dilks and Lonnie Gotschall on March 20. She is the daughter of the Robert Dilks and he is the son of Mrs. Mane Gotschall. Remember the public hearing hear-ing to be held Tuesday March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the city hall to discuss the possibilities of widening the frontage in the R-l zoning. The mayor and council are desirous of having a group present with would represent both sides of the question. The West Bountiful Ward Primary has had a hard time to get to their project of Jr. Olympics for their building fund. The weather just hasn't coopeiatt'J, but one day soon they hope to have kite-Ilying weather. The children will pav entry fees for each event. Proceeds will go to the building build-ing fund. Gold, silver and bronze metals will be given to winners. Some other ill people were sure the gremlins were after 4 them. Ralph Wilson was hospitalized hos-pitalized in the South Davis Community Hospital again. Ruby Mann has had pneumonia. Ann and Rick Watts are happy to have their baby at home after time kept in the hosniial |
