Show Saturday Rites For James Ira Young '-j f -. I J ' k L JAMES IRA YOLNG James Ira Young, 56, 311 East 600 South, Centerville, died at his home March 16, 1976 of heart failure. HE WAS born July 24, 1919 in Franklin, Ida., to Lawrence A. and Leila Doney Young. Married Marva May Saunders, September 24, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. WAS EDUCATED in Ogden City school. Graduated with associate degree from Weber College. Graduated from Brigham Young University with a master's degree. Served an LDS Northwestern States mission from 1939-41. Served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during world war II. Was first LDS branch' president at Brigham Young University, Wymount Village, 1947. Served as a counselor in four LDS bishoprics, as executive secretary and as a high councilman. AT THE time of his death he was employed at the Salt Lake office of Eimac Division of Varion as a supervisor of engineering services, was coauthor co-author of the Oakland, California LDS Temple pageant. Had been a faculty member at BYU, a composer and artist. Surviving are his wife, three sons and two daughters : James Lawrence Young, Ogden; Og-den; Steven Ray Young, Newburgh, Ind.; Jay Rowland Young, Hyrum, Utah; Mrs. Jorge (Louise) Garcia, San Antonio, Tex.; Mrs. Bruce (Elaine) Costa, Logan; and a foster son, Gerald Howard, Tuba City, Ariz. ALSO A sister and two brothers, Mrs. Lester (Adele) Grange, Orem; Daren C. Young, Spanish Fork; and L. Richard Young, Centerville and 16 grandchildren. Services will be held at the Centerville 3rd and 6th Ward chapel, 990 South 400 East at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 1976. Viewing will be Friday 6-8 and Saturday 11:30-12:30 at the Bountiful Union Mortuary, Mor-tuary, 295 North Main Street. BURIAL will be at the Centerville Cen-terville City Cemetery. |
