Show A Bountiful First: Reynolds Lecture At Davis U. Center Dr. James L. Clayton, University of Utah History Professor, will deliver the 39th Annual Reynolds Lecture March 27 at the Davis Complex in Bountiful. PROFESSOR Clayton, a nationally recognized expert in U.S. fiscal affairs, has entitled en-titled his lecture "A Farewell to the Welfare State." Dr. William C. Stringham, I Director of the Davis-Univer- sity of Utah Program, said, i "This is the first time the Reynolds Lecture has been delivered in Bountiful and we are delighted to be able to host it. The Reynolds committee com-mittee has assured us that we can schedule this event annually." an-nually." THE REYNOLDS Lectureship Lec-tureship was established to honor Frederick W. Reynolds, a former Professor of English at the University. : It is awarded each year to an I outstanding University of Utah faculty member. : Dr. Clayton received the I coveted Distinguished I Teaching Award at the j University in 1966. He is also an outstanding researcher and author. He was warned that the exponential use in social welfare spending is likely to produce a fiscal crises comparable to the Great Depression. THE FREE public lecture is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24. |
