Show lic IZl ' ... : MyiM k QUALIFY lil lM OQEiElGUillO By DAVE WIGHAM Councilman Beesley, representing Bountiful, received full endorsement from the Davis COG in regards to implementing the plans to extend Bonneville Drive. MR. BEESLEY explained to the group that at the present rate of growth in the area, the freeway system going go-ing into Salt Lake would not be able to adequately handle - all the traffic. Bountiful, with the help of the WFRC Planning Committee, Commit-tee, has proposed the extension exten-sion of Bonneville Drive as a source of relieving some of the traffic problems. MR. BEESLEY indicated that a group of citizens in the Capitol Hill area of Salt Lake are fighting this proposed extension. ex-tension. The city of Bountiful then wrote a letter to Governor Gover-nor Rampton seeking his feelings on the matter. In his reply the Governor indicated that he indeed agreed that there was a need for another road into Salt Lake. INGLISH pointed out that all Bountiful wanted was the support of the Davis COG on the concept, and that further study on the plan could be made. The COG then passed a motion to support Bountiful in their efforts, dw At Region II Forensic Meets the Viewmont Vikings have qualified a number of Vikings to go to the "State Meet" to be held at the University of Utah on March 26 and 27. VIEWMONT qualified a record "6 Teams" for "State" in Debate. They were Marianne McSwain and Jim Sprake (who beat every top-ranked top-ranked team in region), Kirk Green and Scott Roybal, who were also undefeated; Steve Fawcett and Jarded Astin, Martha Donaldson and Jane Ann Lamph, Bradley Paul and Dave Roberts and JoAnn Horsley and Sharon Wendel. The Vikings also qualified the following people in individual in-dividual events: oratory: Carol Wadsworth, Wendy Tingey, Susan Hansen and Helen Chipman.
