Show Foster Cure Conference The fifth annual conference on foster care in Utah, sponsored spon-sored by the Utah Foster Parent Association, Weber State College, will be held April 14-15. FRIDAY night, April 14 from 7 to 9 p.m., the American Field Service students will put on a program. There will be registration, and following the program, refreshments. Come and enjoy a delightful evening and bring the family, because this is a family affair. af-fair. Saturday, April 15: 8-9 a.m., registration; 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., workshops, these are helpful even if you have no connection with the foster program; 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the keynote address. Dr. Elliott D. Landau will be the speaker; 12: 15-1: 15 p.m., lunch break. Lunch is included includ-ed in with the registration. Registration fee is $5 per person, children are free; 1: 15-2: 45 p.m., workshop; 3-4:30 p.m. workshop. SOME OF the topics of the conference will be very interesting for people even if they are parents, grandparents grand-parents or just interested in child welfare. Jim Anderson will be doing two workshops on problem solving which every one can benefit. Dr. W D. Belnap will be doing two workshops on "Psychological Development of the Adolescent." Harold Adams will be doing three workshops on "Teenagers -Why They Do What They Do." A CHILD abuse panel will do three workshops with seven different aspects of child abuse being presented. Remember this is a foster parent conference, but you do not have to be a foster parent to attend. This is for interested interest-ed persons and everyone is invited. |
