Show Opsin's e3 By LISA DICKSON The new studentbody officers of-ficers who will head next year's great class of '79 are Paul Hansen, president; Kendall Summers, vice president, and Sharalyn Green, secretary. Congratulations Congra-tulations to these three outstanding out-standing Vikes. PETITIONS for junior and senior class office were available on Monday and turned in on Thursday. Today and next week will be campaigning cam-paigning and on Thursday the primary election assemblies will be held. The final election will be Wednesday, April 26. Wednesday we had a great assembly featuring John Goddard. The awards for swimming, basketball and wrestling were also presented. present-ed. TODAY we are having a varsity baseball game at 4 at Skyview and a girls track meet; Bountiful and View-mont View-mont also at Sky View at 4. Our super Vykettes are in Idaho this weekend at the Idaho Falls drill team competition and are expected to do very well. Good luck girls. THERE is a team at View-mont View-mont that doesn't get the recognition that it really deserves. Currently they are undefeated (5-0) in region and are top ranked in state. This is Viewmont's own soccer team. Players this year include Bill Clark, Dave Fames, Kent Gines, Kevin Peck, Kay Moosman, Kim Bullock, Royal Smith, Brett Boyle, Joe VandeMerwe, Ron Hammonds, Ham-monds, Steve Carlson, Steve Cook and Martin Simons. Some of their recent wins were over teams like Layton, Clearfield and a great victory over Bountiful. THEY played Judge on Tuesday and today they play Orem at Orem. Keep up the great work - we'd like a third state title in '78. Coming up next week we have tennis here and baseball at Layton on Tuesday. Drill team clinics also begin. Wednesday Wed-nesday we have a track meet with Bountiful at VHS and tennis at East. The Region I orchestra festival is being held at Weber High also. WITH ALL the elections and spring activities we can feel that this school year is almost to an end. It's a good time to remember our '78 theme - that "Reflections of today leave memories for tomorrow." Have a nice weekend. |
