OCR Text	Show Evolution Of The Mexican Mariachi The thought of Mexican music brings to mind a vision of the colorful mariachi tight pants and short jackets studded with silver conchos, wide-brimmed sombreros, villainous mustaches, wild violins, lonesome guitars and blaring trumpets. Where did it all start? THE WORD "mariachi" evolved from the French word for marriage, when during the days of French intervention interven-tion in Mexico (1960s), French aristocracy would invite in-vite local music groups to perform at weddings.
