Show Miss Iris Huntsman and Howard H. Starr Recite Marriage Vows Today Married in the St. George Temple at noon today, Thursday, were Miss Iris Huntsman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Huntsman and Howard H. Starr, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Starr, both of this city. Pres. Harold S. Snow read the ceremony in the presence of a large group of close relatives and intimate friends. The bride's wedding dress was of white airline over white crepe-backed crepe-backed satin, an old-fashioned floor-length model and was the handwork of her mother. Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Dixie junior college col-lege where Miss Huntsman was the Beaux Art Queen of 1940, her graduating year. Mr. Starr has since filled a mission to the western west-ern states and is at present an employee of Standard Stations in St. George. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony the couple left for a brief honeymoon to California and plan to return Monday. On Tuesday evening a group of neighbors and friends joined in honoring the bride-elect with a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pendleton. More than 50 relatives and friends attended and participated in the program of games, stunts, music and singing, after which refreshments refresh-ments were served and the numerous num-erous gifts were opened. |
