Show Descendants of Orin and Ann Cannon Woodbury Meet Observing a long-followed practice, prac-tice, the descendants of Orin and Ann Cannon Woodbury assembled in St. George Saturday to celebrate cele-brate their grtndmother's 110th birthday anniversary with nearly 150 relatives from eastern Nevada, Iron, Kane and Washington counties coun-ties attending. All who were able to do so, attended Temple sessions ses-sions during the day, while others visited. At 7 p. m., the entire group assembled at the South ward chapel recreation hall for their luncheon and program. David O. Woodbury, president of the organization, was in charge of the event with Vernon Wor-then, Wor-then, chairman of the amusements. amuse-ments. Lunch was served at 7 p. m., followed by a variety program pro-gram in which one or more children child-ren from the families represented, contributing music, singing, reading read-ing or other numbers, along with humorous readings by A b r a m Woodbury of Mesquite. and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Adams of Washington. Wash-ington. Messages from family members who could not attend were read and pictures from family fam-ily albums were reproduced with a slide projector, evoking amusement amuse-ment and interest. This one-hour program was followed fol-lowed by dancing, in which both old and young participated, even Hyrum Leany, aged 89, leading on for a quadrille and other numbers. num-bers. Most of the out-of-town visitors vis-itors remained overnight, returning return-ing home early Sunday or Monday. |
