Show East and Center Ward Scouts Hear Royden Braithwaite Speak Sun. Scouts were honored in the special spe-cial conjoint program held at the Tabernacle featuring activities of the East and Center ward Scouts, with Royden Braithwaite as the guest speaker, Heber C. Thompson Thomp-son conducting the program. This program is in commemoration of the Scouting anniversary. Mr. Braithwaite, who has had long experience in Scouting emphasized em-phasized the value of the Scout law, providing the boy who enters Scouting actually lives up to the high standards set in this program, pro-gram, which teaches him a gratefulness grate-fulness for the land in which he lives, for its privileges and blessings, bless-ings, and to L. D. S. Scouts for the church of which they are members. Hails Leaders He hailed every person, man or woman who has contributed to world advancement as a good Scout, and feels that there is added ad-ded value in the L. D. S. program pro-gram of Scouting, because of the Priesthood order which goes hand in hand with Scouting, which is Priesthood's activity program. He concluded with excerpts from a letter from a convicted man who urged boys everywhere (Continued on page three) Scouts Honored (Continued from first page) to live by the Scout oath, saying Scouting teachers boys to be men if they are genuine Scouts, and that the best assets for right living liv-ing and good breeding, good feeding feed-ing and good leading. A review of Scouting over the last 32 years, since its institution as a definite program by Baden Powell in England, was presented effectively by B. Glen Smith, Scout executive and Priesthood supervisor, who gave the details of this program from its inception, incep-tion, and stated that the Boy Scout hand book is second only in sales to the Bible throughout the world. Bishop Leo G. Smith, ward Scout leader, re-told an interesting Scout story and expressed appreciation appreci-ation for his privilege of working in the program. Highlights of Program Highlighting the program otherwise other-wise was organ music by Paul Thompson, a chorus, "Have I Done Any Good In the World Today", To-day", by Scouts; a vocal solo, "The Mormon Boy", by Marion McArthur; and trumpet solo, "The Psalms", by Gregg Snow.
