Show Friends Gather Here To Honor Simmons' With Farewell Party Monday Nite Nearly 60 friends of the E. W. Simmons' gathered Monday night in the Arrowhead hotel banquet room to honor them with a farewell fare-well party. Dr. L. W. McGregor was toastmaster for the occasion. Those taking part on the program pro-gram included Mrs. Gordon Whitehead, White-head, who presented a humorous talk; original songs by a trio composed of Mrs. L. A. Porter, Mrs. B. G. Milne and Mrs. Lorraine Lor-raine Cox; two solos by Mrs. Marvin Jenkins, who was the former Noma Andrus; and an original humorous poem by Mrs. John J. Phoenix Jr.; and the presentation pres-entation of the presents by Dr. W. J. Reichman. A response was made by Mrs. Simmons. The musical musi-cal numbers accompanied by Mrs. Mae Pace, who also played and led the group singing. The theme of the program was the featuring of Simmons as fine friends and citizens. The group expressed its sorrow at losing them, but wished them the best of luck in their new location in Orem, where Mr. Simmons is going go-ing into business. : Following the program, cards were played with Mr. and Mrs. Morton Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Val Hafen winning high honors. |
