Show Dixie College News Wendell DeMille and Keith Ross are two recent enrollees in the sheet metal class at the Dixie college. D. J.C. The college band has purchased two paintings from the Fine Arts Festival collection. They are both by Stuber, a California artist. They are entiled, "Silvery River Bank", and "Sprinkled Sunshine". D. J.C. A. K. Hafen, Dixie college instructor, in-structor, who has been confined at his home for several weeks because of illness, is now teaching teach-ing his modern language classes at his home. Mrs. William Brooks continues to teach his English work. Mr. Hafen hopes to be able to take over his complete load soon. D. J. C. Miss Peggy Judd has been appointed ap-pointed as staff artist for the "D. J. C", Dixie college news sheet. She succeeds Miss Jane Pace, who has entered employ- i ment in town. D.J.C. Beads Play The reading of the play, "The Constant Wife", by Miss Eleanor Nicholes of the Hurricane high school faculty was the highlight of the meeting of the college Faculty Fac-ulty Women's club last Thursday Thurs-day night. C Social Hygiene Day The health and biology departments depart-ments of the college united Wednesday Wed-nesday in the annual celebration of Social Hyggiene day. A special program was held Wednesday morning, with problems prob-lems of social hygiene being discussed dis-cussed before the entire student-body. student-body. The problems of the day were discussed in various classes, and the college furnished speakers for service organizations. Leland Hafen was chairman of the observance. |
