Show HURRICANE Miss Julia Whitney Reporter Glen Lee, who was released a few months ago from the Army, has again been called into the service. He left Sunday for Ft. Douglas. Miss Fern Condi, who has been living here for some time, returned return-ed to Cedar City recently to live. Mrs. James Tweedie and small daughter, Janet, of Cedar City are here visiting with her mother, Mrs. Harriet Lee. Mrs. LaRue Stratton and small daughter, of Las Vegas, spent Saturday Sat-urday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Spendlove, her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Prater of Las Vegas spent the week end visiting at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bradshaw and family of Cedar City spent the week end visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Woodbury. Mr. and Mrs. Del Iverson and small son, of Los Angeles, spent the last week visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Lor-enzo Spendlove. Mrs. Don Gibson, accompanied by Miss Iva Gibson, left Saturday Satur-day for Los Angeles, where she will join her husband, who is working there. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bowler of Gunlock spent the week end visiting vis-iting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Woodbury. Byron Johnson, who has been working in Sun Valley, Ida., returned re-turned to his home Wednesday, for a few days and then left for the Army. Mr. and Mrs. Burr Bradshaw and family left recently for Seattle, Wash., where they will make their home. Jim Spendlove, who has been working in Las Vegas, spent a few days visiting with his parents, and then left Sunday for Panama, where he will work in the future. Malan Gibson returned home on Thursday. He has spent the. past week visiting in Los Angeles. The Red Cross is sponsoring a first aid class which will be held every week in the high school building. The first meeting will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.- Reed Blake, of St. George will be the instructor. Everyone is invited to attend. Mrs. Edward Kupherer spent the past week visiting with her husband in Las Vegas. The senior class of the Hurricane' Hurri-cane' high school, for their class project, are going to fix up the fence around the square and plant honeysuckle around it. They will also plant English ivy next to the building and make other small improvements on the school high school grounds. Eldon Walker left Friday for the Iron county hospital in Cedar City,' where he will undergo an appendectomy. Miss LaRell Wood of Salt Lake City will spend a few days here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dalton before going on to Los Angeles. Mrs. Lorenzo Spendlove return-ed return-ed recently from a visit in Ogder ' and Logan with relatives, s Mrs. Samuel Wright and Mrs Harvey Dalton returned recently ' from a trip to Hawthorne, Nev. where they visited with their hus bands. Mrs. Sam Rindskopf and tw children of Salt Lake City ari here visiting with her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Isom. The Lady Lions club held : meeting at the Dixie hotel oi Monday, Jan. 26. The evenini was spent in knitting for the Rei Cross. Hostesses were Mrs. How ard Kleinman, Mrs. Audrey Stev ens, Mrs. Ruby Williams and Mrs Fred Slack. Plate lunches wer served. A farewell party was given fo Lieutenant John Shipley and hi wife by the Hurricane Lions clul on Monday in the Hurricane higl school building. A short progran was given and the main speake: was Pres. Claud Hirschi. Grou singing was participated in by thi group after which dancing was en gaged in. The banquet was pre pared and served by the homi economics girls. |
