Show College Leads J.C. League With Double Victory Friday's Game With B.A.C. Rated As Crucial Game To Date For Dixie The college basketball team maintained main-tained a perfect record at the close of its home stand, by virtue of its double win over Weber and Mesa here last Friday and Saturday Satur-day nights. The Flyers downed Weber 43-40 and then outclassed Mesa 46-34. The remaining college schedule takes the team on the road, beginning be-ginning with the B. A. C. Friday night. While the Flyers rest on top by a two-game margin, the Aggie team is in second place fully determined to reduce the margin. If the Flyers are to achieve a championship this year, they recognize the fact that they are up against the stiffest competition com-petition with those self-same Aggies. Won League Game While Coach Watts' boys won the league contest here with the boys from Cedar, they have not forgotten the scorching defeat in the practice game that followed. They are at full strength, however, how-ever, 1 and will be out to retain their perfect record. The two teams will meet again Saturday night in another practice tilt. Dixie showed loyal fans last week-end that her earlier victories were no flukes. The game with Weber was hard-fought. The visitors led at the first quarter, after which the Flyers forged ahead, to retain the lead most of theim throughout. Mesa held the locals to a tie in the early part of the game. Once the Watts men found themselves, them-selves, however, they outsmarted the Mavericks and defeated them decisively. In a practice game earlier in the season, the visitors had severely trounced the Flyers. Dixie To Play Mesa Next week will find the Dixie team traveling to Grand Junction, Colo., and to Price, where they will play the Mesa and Carbon colleges on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively. Tomorrow Snow goes to Weber and Carbon to Westminster. The following night Weber and Westminster West-minster will trade opponents. Last week the B. A. C. succeeded suc-ceeded in trouncing Mesa 65-47, but they were out-pointed by Weber the following night 46-45. Both games were played at Cedar City. Carbon traveled to Ephraim last Friday night to be trimmed 55-31. The standing of the teams at the mid-point of the league schedule sched-ule is as follows: Team W L. Pet. Dixie 6 0 1.000 B. A.
