Show The 32nd Anniversary of Scouting To Be Observed Here Sunday 'Jlie anniversary of Scouting jn America will be fittingly observed ob-served in St. George Sunday evening, eve-ning, Feb. 8th, at 7:30 p.m., in -the stake Tabernacle. It was on February 8, 1910, that Scouting was chartered by the United Stales Congress. The anniversary program will be a public court of honor, under the director of Dr. W. C. Cox, local court of honor chairman. Life awards will be given to Stanley Snow, Walter Snow, Arthur Ar-thur Gregerson and Mark McAllister, Mc-Allister, all of Troop 404, Center 'ward. A number of merit badges :and- lower ranks will be awarded, :also other advancements not yet announced. The program will include a patriotic story by Leo G. Smith, a short. talk by Maiben' Ashby, a Flag ceremony, and music under the direction of Stanley Schmutz, In charge of music at the Woodward Wood-ward high. During anniversary week Scout programs will also be featured in the various wards that have Scout programs. Last Sunday night the East and Center wards combined in presenting an inspirational Scout program. Speakers were Royden Braithwaite, B. Glen Smith and Leo G. Smith. Music was furnished furn-ished by Scouts of the two troops. The public is cordially invited to "attend the court of honor program pro-gram in the Tabernacle next Sunday. |
