Show Gary Garner Cook Gary Gamer Cook, 58, died March 28, 1990 at his home in Newark, Calif, of a heart attack. He was born May 17, 1931 in City. Also surviving are: 12 grandchildren; grand-children; one brother, Paul Ronald Cook, Bountiful; Mrs. Robert B. (Margorie C.) Fisher, Layton; Mrs. Glenn W. (Claudette C.) Anderson, Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Steven G. (Kathleen "Tafi") Glauser, . San Diego, Calif. Services were held April 2 in Newark and will be held at the Syracuse Tenth Ward, 1313 S. 2500 W., Syracuse, at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. Viewing View-ing 11 a-m.-l p.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Syracuse Cemetery. Ogden, the son of Joseph and Loma May Gamer Cook of Syracuse. He married Del Jean Nelson of Clearfield in the Swiss Temple in 1955, where he was serving his country in Germany. He was educated in Syracuse Elementary, North Davis Junior High in Clearfield and graduated from Davis High School in 1949. He also attended Weber State, BYU and studied toward a law degree at the University of Utah. He was named Utah All American pitcher through the Shriners' organization in 1949. He was always active in sports, baseball, basketball and bowling. He was teaching underprivileged youth the construction trade for the government through a private company com-pany in Newark at the time of his death. Gary has lived in Bountiful, Santa Clara, Newark, Calif.; and Scottsdale, Ariz. He worked in construction and life insurance and was the top sales representative rep-resentative for the state of Arizona in 1960-62. He served an LDS Alabama Mission Mis-sion 1950-1952, where he was appointed ap-pointed traveling companion to the visiting LDS authorities who toured the southern states. He served in three bishoprics, home teacher and currently current-ly as the First Ward Newark Mission leader, taught adult Sunday School classes. Survivors include his wife, Del Jean; children, Keith Nelson Cook, Jonathan Gamer Cook, ' Richard William Cook, of Newark; Mrs. Jurgen (Christine) Winck, San Jose, Calif.; Steven Gary Cook, Fort Lewis, Wash.; Kathy Cook Perkins, Bountiful; Boun-tiful; David Joseph Cook, Salt Lake |
