Show WIN opens new center B O UNT IFUL-Th e Western Institute In-stitute has opened its fifth Wasatch .Front CARE Center. The new reenter is located in Bountiful. : Wade Merrill, L.C.S.W., has joined the Western Institute as its director of outreach services. He will direct the six CARE centers, including the Evanston, Wyoming Center, and service the regional needs of referral sources in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada and southern Utah. According to Merrill, the new Bountiful CARE center is managed by Victoria Latter, R.N., MBA, and former adult unit nurse at The Western Institute. Edgar E. Collins, M.DM a psychiatrist and native Utahn who recently joined the staff of The Western Institute, has established an outpatient practice at the Bountiful Boun-tiful CARE center three days a week. The center is located at 425 Medical Drive, Suite 105, Boun- tiful. "We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week," explains Merrill. "We have licensed mental health professionals ready to respond re-spond to community, family or individual in-dividual crises at no cost to them." The CARE centers provide free mental health assessments for children, adolescents and adults who need assistance but don't know where to rum. Once an assessment is completed, com-pleted, the CARE centers refer a person to the appropriate provider for treatment. "Were here to listen and help people identify the appropriate resource for the type of treatment they need and the level of treatment they need," explains Merrill. The CARE centers are educational educa-tional resources that sponsor popular programs like "Seasons of the Mind," Intervention Training, 12 Step Groups, After Care Groups, Drug and Alcohol Education for Adolescents and Adults, and a variety of special lectures and services, ser-vices, all of which are provided as community service of The Western Institute and its CARE center division. |
