He rifled a throw to home to nip By GARY BLODGETT Sports Editor KAYSVILLE -- Viewmont High's Vikings won their second straight Region One baseball game Friday with a 3-0 shutout of the Davis High Darts on the Darts' field. It was the second loss of the new season for Davis, who also lost a 4-3 thriller to Roy earlier in the week. Viewmont defeated Layton 4-1 in its season league opener last Tuesday. The Vikings scored all of their runs against Davis in the third inning inn-ing on three hits and one Dart error. The timely, back-to-back hitting by the Vikes was something the Darts were unable to do all day. Bryan Layton led off the third for Viewmont by reaching first on an error. Greg Clark walked and both runners advanced on a fielder's choice. Troy Bumingham singled to score Layton and Tate Viehweg singled to load the bases.
