Garden club wins award Malm strom won a blue ribbon first place in the "Billy the Kid" pioneer table using a 100-year-old family quilt and tin plates. She also won a red, second place award in the "My Fair Lady" division. South Davis Garden Club offers many fine programs and presentations. presenta-tions. Members meet each third Wednesday of the month in the basement of the Bountiful library, unless otherwise notified. At these times they make field trips to such places as the Farmington Utah State Extension Gardens, Red Butte Arboretum Ar-boretum or local gardens. New members are welcome and wanted. Contact: Eleanor Johnson 292-1099 and Geraldine Burwell 451-2766. South Davis Garden Club was well represented at the recent Salt Lake Tribune Home and Garden Show. This local club won the Educational Educa-tional Sweepstakes Award for club tables, displaying civic efforts with furthering recycling and gathering of disposables, encouraging members to save glass and plastic, as well as newspapers and aluminum cans. Also, in giving garden supplies, fertilizer, seed and pots for the women's prison facility at the state prison. Posters by Connie Gibson, daughter of member Donna Gibson, explained the exhibit. The artistic table included many bunches of dried herbs, tied by ribbon and identified iden-tified and grown and dried by member Elizabeth Smith. Member Twila Keller won the sweepstakes award in the Po Cheng Chang's silk flower arrangement, $250 in silk flowers and a trophy. Table settings were represented by club president, Eleanor Johnson, who won a blue ribbon first price in "My Fair Lady" luncheon for four category.
