Show Bountiful, Olympus to meet in hockey playoff BOUNTIFULBountiful High School's most exciting ice hockey games have been played against a team they had not beaten all year. Bountiful's team has been honed to a winning machine and their toughest opponent, Olympus High, is skating at their peak. The first game between Bountiful and Olympus this year, played at the Cottonwood Heights Community Communi-ty Recreation Center, ended in a 5-5 tie. The game then went into a 'no-score' 'no-score' overtime. Finally, a one-on-one shoot-out settled the match with Olympus making a winning goal, ending the game with Bountiful 5, Olympus 6. The two teams met again on Wednesday in the state semi-final games. As would be expected, excitement ex-citement at the match ran high. Bountiful's Shawn Tooley tended the game brilliantly, having 32 saves and allowing only 3 goals to be scored against Bountiful. To take the victory, Travis Howich scored 2 goals, Chad Little scored 2, and Brad Mitchell scored 1, for a final toll of Bountiful 5, Olympus 3. Both teams have now lost once to each other. They will meet again at the state semi-finals Thurs. April 5 at 7:15 p.m. at Cottonwood Heights Community Recreation Center, 2700 E. 7500 S., Salt Lake City. |
