Show - Randall receives trophy The Utah State Western Riding Club Association has awarded Ronald T. Randall of Centerville, the 1989 Outstanding Man of the Year trophy. The award was presented to Randall Ran-dall at the association's annual Jamboree Dance in Provo Jan. 26. This is the most distinguished award given to a Utah horseman. It is Randall's second time to receive it. The trophy is awarded to any member of an active riding club who accumulates the most points during any given year. Points are accumulated by winning or placing in such competitions as flat races, cutter races, trailer races, team tying, ty-ing, wild-cow milking, ribbon pulling, pull-ing, stock horse and pleasure class riding. Competitions are held on a district, region and statewide basis. Seventy-three riding clubs were represented in the 1989 state competition, com-petition, which included a huge grand entry. Randall won the district, region and state flat races with two horses, "Winderdust," and "High Pocket's Dude," an unusually fine accomplishment. He also competed with different horses and placed in quite a few other competitions. Randall is an outstanding horseman in all facets of training and racing horses. Feb. 10 he placed first in the Beehive Cutter-Racing Assocation competition. He will represent Beehive Cutter-Racing Association in the state cutter races, and also in the World Championship Champion-ship Culter-Races at Pocatello, Idaho in March. Howard Brown,, also of Centerville, Center-ville, is partner and part owner of Randall's cutter-racing team. |
