Linnell addresses Bountiful's needs Bountiful must oppose the Wa-; Wa-; satch Variation of the proposed Kern RiverWyCal natural gas pipeline, Mayor Robert Linnell told Kiwanians as they met Tuesday to ; consider problems and needs of Bountiful City. The proposed pipeline, planned through Mueller Canyon, is a major concern because it would affect the canyon water-shed and would also be near the city well and treatment plant, he said. Mayor Linnell pointed out that the pipeline did not need to run through populous areas. Other concerns, he pointed out: our land-fill will fit our needs for another 25 to 30 years; Albertson's will open their new site about June; the Shop-Ko Center is a "done-deal" "done-deal" and we may be facing raised power rates because "riders" put on CUP legislation to meet environmental envir-onmental requirements will raise costs of CUP and subsequently raise costs of power to cities like Bountiful. Mayor Linnell said Block 29 tenant-space has been filled and most property has been purchased. |
