Show i Centerville youth report fixed By TOM HARALDSEN CENTERVILLE--Three members of the city's new Youth Council reported to the regular city council on their attendance of a leadership conference at Utah State University in early March. Brendan Green, Allison Hancey and Laurie Linge attended the USU event, along with city treasurer Judy Hovencamp, who is serving as advisor ad-visor for the group. Green spoke for the group, which will eventually add two new members and perhaps one or two other support positions. He told city council mat the youth group has plans this year to get involved in the Fourth of July celebration in the city. In addition, the youth council will organize and conduct a baby pageant, a street dance, construct a float for the July 4th parade, set up a booth as a fund-raiser during the July 4th festivities, and help with a cleanup of the city cemetery prior to Memorial Day. The council also hopes to help ; with various landscaping and flower-planting projects around the " city this summer. , - The Youth Council will be under the direction of a volunteer advisor from the community and should be fully staffed and operational in the ; next few weeks. |
