Students win top honors at fair t - t ' ; - s -I t i By DON ETA GATHERUM OGDENSeveral local students produced winning projects at the regional Utah History Fair for the Davis and Weber County area. This activity was held March 15 at Weber State College. Students from Orchard, Valley View and Boulton Elementaries and South Davis, Mueller Park, Center-ville Center-ville and Millcreek Junior Highs all scored high enough qualify to participate par-ticipate in the annual State History Fair to be held at B YU this week. This year students explored the theme, "Science and Technology in History. ' This was especially challenging because the students had to tie scientific subjects and people into the context of history. After doing their own research into areas of history they found interesting, in-teresting, students presented their findings at the regional fair in one of four different categories: the paper, the project, the performance or the media presentation. The Utah History Fair is sponsored spon-sored by the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies at USU. It is funded in part by the Utah Endowment Endow-ment for the Humanities, BYU, the Utah State Office of Education, Utah State Historical Society and school districts throughout the state.
