Show Clipper previews Friday's county gridiron match -ups the Beetdiggers by a touchdown. DAVIS vs. LAYTON Davis has dominated most of its foes this year. Layton has struggled, mainly on defense. The Darts have every advantage coming into this game except the home field advantage. They will win by at least four touchdowns. VIEWMONT vs. WEBER The key for the Vikings this week will be consistency. The Warriors have struggled of late, losing big to Clearfield last week at their own homecoming. Bountiful vs. Jordan will be the game to watch this week. Both teams put their perfect records on the line. By G.BRETT HART Last week was a banner week for South Davis football; all four teams boasted impressive wins. But that was last week, and unfortunately, un-fortunately, last week's victories need to take a back seat to this week's games. So, let's take a look at the upcoming upcom-ing games and see what kind of surprises sur-prises this Friday's grid-iron action will hold for county football fans. BOUNTIFUL vs. JORDAN This will be the game to watch. Both the Braves and the Beet-diggers Beet-diggers will put perfect records on the line. However, Jordan will have the ominous task taking on the Braves in Bountiful. Not usually an easy task anyway, but this is Bountiful' s Homecoming Week. You can bet this will complicate com-plicate matters sufficiently for Jordan. Jor-dan. Both teams won big last week. Bountiful is coming off an easy 30-0 win over Judge. Coupled with the momentum of homecoming and the home field advantage, The Braves will scalp unanswered points in the fourth quarter. The previous week at Clearfield, Viewmont's defense let down at the end of the second quarter, just long enough for Clearfield to score two touchdowns and win the game. If the Vikings are consistent and can pick up where they left off last week, they will fly past the Warriors War-riors by at least two touchdowns. WOODS CROSS vs. TOOELE The Wildcats should have an easier time with Tooele than they had with the Granite Farmers whom they edged last week in overtime. Not only will the Wildcats have the home field advantage, but it is Woods Cross homecoming this week. The Wildcats usually have a stadium full of frenzied Wildcat fans, but boosted by homecoming spirit, the stands will be fuller and more frenzied than usual. Needless to say, the Wildcats will be able to celebrate a successful homecoming if they can get over last week's case of "fumbleitis that almost cost them the game. The Wildcats will win by at least two touchdowns over Tooele. After last week's impressive sinking of the Lakers, one wonders if there is a Region One foe that can give the Darts a challenge. Behind the seasoned leadership of Dart quarterback Todd Heath, the Darts should have few problems with the Lancers. Unfortunately for the Warriors, they will have to travel into Viking territory. If the Viking defense can play four entire quarters of football against Weber, the Vikes will win easily. Last week, the Bengals threatened to steal victory from Viewmont's grasp scoring 12 |
