L spite all this, the Vikings have LkKjLed really strong," according Iti Adams, and the Vikes have given niore than one good team a run for their money. ' I think once the girls get used to working with each other they will be '.ft- hard team to beat," said Adrm. "The strongest thing that wi have this year is hitters." C.e team has some very good athletes. "I really look forward to working with Amber Tippetts," said Adams. Tippetts is a starting sophomore and is a possible All-State All-State player. Another All-State candidate this year is setter Amy Duncan who missed the preseason with a pulled muscle injury she received while indian leg wrestling with her brother. Other players to watch this year are senior Shannon Marrow an all-around all-around rotation player, and middle blocker Jennifer Jones who at 6'2" will add height to the team. 'I also think we have a really strong backup team this year, a good second string," said Adams. ' We need to work on our offense," said Adams. "We've just come up with a lineup that we want to work with, we just need to stick to it. We would like to make it (our offense) a little bit quicker. We also need a smoother transition from offense to defense." "Mental practice is important," said Adams. "I think my girls have more heart than any team Ive coached. They really want to do well." |
